The finalists of the Americas Lodging Investment
Summit (ALIS) Awards have been announced, with the winners to be
unveiled on 28 July.
Among
the finalists are hotels, companies, and executives who are
responsible for some of the most influential hotel industry deals in 2020.
Nominees for the
awards are evaluated based on outstanding business performance in
various industry categories.
In the category of Development of the Year (Full
Service) 2020 (includes branded and unbranded - luxury and
upper-upscale chain scales, and casinos), the finalists are:
- JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District –
Savannah, GA (pictured) - Montage Healdsburg – Healdsburg, CA - One&Only Mandarina – Riviera Nayarit, Mexico
In the category of Development of the Year
(Select/Limited Service) 2020 (includes branded and unbranded -
upscale, upper midscale, midscale, and economy chain scales), the
finalists are:
- AC Hotel Fort Worth Downtown – Fort Worth, TX
- AC Hotel Little Rock Downtown – Little Rock, AR - Hyatt House
& Hyatt Place – Chicago, IL
In the category of Single Asset Transaction of the
Year (Over US$25m) 2020, the finalists are:
- L’Ermitage Beverly Hills Hotel – Beverly Hills,
CA - Newport Beach Marriott – Newport Beach, CA - Sheraton
Downtown Phoenix – Phoenix, AZ
In the category of Single Asset Transaction of the
Year (US$25m & Under) 2020, the finalists are:
- Killington Mountain Lodge – Killington, VT - TownePlace Suites by Marriott Macon Mercer University – Macon, GA
In the category of Merger & Acquisition of the
Year 2020, the finalists are:
- Arbor Lodging Partners acquires 12-Hotel
Portfolio - Oxford Capital Group, LLC acquires Five Properties
from Greystone Hotels - Three Wall Capital acquires Eight TownePlace Suites from Services Properties Trust
In the category of Jack A. Shaffer Financial
Advisor of the Year 2020, the finalists are:
- Gilda Perez-Alvarado, Global CEO, Hotels &
Hospitality, JLL - Alan Tantleff, Senior Managing Director, FTI
Consulting - Robert J. Webster, Vice Chairman & President, CBRE
Hotels Institutional Group, CBRE
This year’s ALIS was moved to 26-28 July 2021 in
response to the ongoing global COVID19 pandemic. The 2022
conference is expected to revert to its usual January timeframe
and is currently scheduled for 24-26 January 2022.
