Cathay Pacific Cargo has launched Click & Ship,
a new digital booking platform that enables customers to view prices, capacity
and book with instant confirmation in just three steps.
“Our customers have been telling us that they want a quicker and
more efficient way to book shipments at any time,” said Tom Owen,
Director Cargo. “We listened. We’re rolling out Click & Ship
progressively across our network and we aim to make real-time
flight schedules, space availability, allotments, and updated rate
information available on www.cathaypacificcargo.com and
www.ezycargo.com for all Cathay Pacific Cargo customers over the
next year.”

Over the past 20 years, the air cargo industry
has continued to rely on manual processes and email confirmation
for shipment bookings, while the passenger airline industry has
evolved to enable customers to book tickets and other services
online.
In recent years, Cathay Pacific Cargo has pioneered
paperless operations and automation of manual processes in the
airfreight industry, working with its majority-owned subsidiary
and IATA e-freight partner, Global Logistics System (HK).
“Click & Ship will transform the cargo booking experience through
a streamlined process and fast, intuitive interface that mimics
the passenger ticket-booking experience. It gives our customers
visibility of price and inventory and means registered agents can
book shipments at their convenience with auto-confirmation,” Owen
added.
Click & Ship offers customers:
- Full overview of pricing, schedule, and
flight availability on a single page;
- Visibility of Cathay
Pacific Cargo inventory and guaranteed space through direct
booking;
- Booking page modelled on passenger-booking page for
intuitive ease of use; and
- Customers submit a booking through a
three-step journey and receive instant confirmation 24/7.
While
Click & Ship will only be available for registered customers in
the first instance, the underlying digital foundations will enable
other users to access Cathay Pacific Cargo’s pricing via
third-party platforms and pave the way for a transition to dynamic
pricing in future.
