Malaysia Airlines has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding with SEG
International (SEGi) to develop and strengthen the aviation
industry's talent pipeline.
The two companies will collaborate
on a wide-range of initiatives, including student internship and
placement programmes, hosting of industrial visits and co-organising
events, development of blended academic agenda through the
inclusion of study module and knowledge exchange, joint research
activities and product development projects, as well as
cross-marketing and promotional activities.
Through the MOU, SEGi students can enjoy many
benefits from the airline’s digitalised student travel programme,
MHexplorer, such as special rates of up to 30% in flight discounts
for all destinations and fare types, an additional 10kg of
check-in baggage, a complimentary date change across all flight
fares, access to Enrich lifestyle privileges and benefits, as well
as extension of exclusive promos to friends and family via promo
codes.
In addition, Enrich – the airline’s travel and
lifestyle loyalty programme, will be rewarding Enrich points on
education fees, where students pursuing the SEGi-University of
Sunderland MBA and BA (Hons) International Tourism and Hospitality
Management Programme can earn 1 Enrich Point for every RM2 spent
on their tuition fees. The Enrich Points can also be
utilized for e-Voucher redemptions worth up to RM500 to pay for
all programme registration fees.
Ms Stella Lau, Chief Executive Officer of SEGi
Group of Colleges, said, “SEGi is delighted to work
with Malaysia Airlines, our national flag bearer in co-producing
next generation talents not only for the aviation industry but the
country. Through this partnership, students from our Business,
Hospitality & Tourism Faculties will get to work on real-life
projects with Malaysia Airlines, solve real-world problems and
immerse in real-time developments of the industry.”
