The Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) has appointed Deveekaa Nijhawan as head of the international PR and
communications team.
Deveekaa’s remit covers key markets including
India, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and United Arab Emirates
with a focus on engaging both travel trade and consumer media.
Deveekaa has over 10
years of experience in PR & Communications within the hospitality
sector and worked most recently and for almost two years in
Maldives as Cluster Director of Marketing Communications,
Partnerships & Public Relations.
Prior to that Deveekaa worked with Niyama Private
Islands Maldives as Director of Marketing Communications & Public
Relations for 18 months, and was in the PR and MarCom team at Le
Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre and Le Méridien Fairway
for over 5 years.
“I am very excited to join QNTC and embrace
this new challenge,” Deveekaa said. “I am looking forward to
developing and implementing a holistic integrated PR and
Communications strategy to position Qatar as a popular
tourist destination, while promoting the country’s rich cultural
heritage and diverse offerings.”
As part of the national strategy, Qatar National
Vision 2030, QNTC is on a journey to welcome six million visitors
a year by 2030.
