Marriott has expanded its Luxury Collection to South
Korea with the opening of the Josun Palace in Seoul.
Originally built in 1914 as one of Korea’s first luxury hotels
- the Chosun,
the hotel is located in Gangnam, just steps from some of the city’s most popular
shopping and entertainment attractions including the COEX Mall and Apgujeong.
“We are delighted to mark the milestone expansion of our
Luxury Collection brand into South Korea with the opening of Josun
Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seoul Gangnam,” said Rajeev
Menon, President, Asia Pacific (excluding Greater China), Marriott
International. “The opening of our newest gem further diversifies
our exciting collection of hotels in South Korea, offering unique
experiences to our discerning guests.”
Each of the hotel’s 254 rooms and suites offer
views overlooking Seoul and are furnished with beds that are outfitted with Frette’s exclusive ‘Andrea’ line, toiletries and bath amenities by The Luxury Collection’s
signature ‘Le Chemin’ line by Byredo, as well as a specialized
private bar for guests who enjoy crafting their own cocktails and
other drinks in-room.
The hotel has also installed automatic UV-C
sterilization devices in all the rooms and guests have the option to
request for hotel services via their smart devices as well as
their in-room smart TVs. Even a robot butler is available 24/7 to
deliver hotel amenities and items to guests.
Josun Palace features five F&B options, a variety
of meeting and event spaces, a heated indoor pool with a deck area
offering panoramic views
over the Gangnam skyline, a fitness center with the
latest cardio and resistance training equipment and an impressive sauna facility.
“We are pleased to debut our first Luxury
Collection hotel in South Korea. Each property is a beautiful and
unique expression of its location. The Luxury Collection has
always inspired authentic experiences and exploration, and the
treasured memories that they create," said Jennie Toh, Vice
President, Brand Marketing and Brand Management, Asia Pacific,
Marriott International. “Josun Palace will draw on its legacy,
offering our guests an unforgettable sense of place through
holistic experiences, distinctive design and unparalleled service
as they discover Seoul and all its wonders."
