Vietjet Aviation has published its financial
statements for Q2 and H1 2021.
In Q2 2021, Vietjets air transport revenue
was VND2,973 billion (approximately US$129.7 million), a
growth of 51% year-on-year thanks mainly to high travel demand in
April. Vietjets consolidated revenue for the quarter totaled VND4,337
billion (US189 million).
Revenue in passenger transport for H1 2021
totaled VND5,818 billion (US$253
million), generating a post-tax profit of VND13.7 billion (US$597,500). The airlines consolidated revenue and consolidated
post-tax profit were VND8,386 billion (US$365
million) and VND127 billion (US$5.53 million),
respectively, both higher than in H1 2020.
Vietjet has ventured into financial and project
investments to expand its business portfolio in support of the air
transport sector while optimizing equity capital during the
temporary aviation slowdown. Revenue in financial and
investment activities was over VND1,756 billion
(US$76.5 million).
Vietjets total assets reached VND44,000 billion
(US$1.9 billion) by the end of June. Its debt-to-equity ratio
stayed at as low as 0.73 while the liquidity ratio remained at
1.5.
Vietjet transported more than 4.8 million
passengers on 34,000 flights over the first six months of the
year. The airline has also focused on refining operation protocols
and boosting its cargo operations, resulting in year-on-year
growth of 40% to 45% with more than 37,000 tons of cargo
delivered.
Together with strategic partners in the Sovico
Group, Vietjet has played a very active role in the national fight
against the COVID19 pandemic by donating to the National Vaccine
Fund, granting ambulance vans to local health departments,
sponsoring medical equipment to intensive care units (ICUs),
airlifting healthcare workers and medical equipment free of charge,
and organize charity kitchen to provide meals for the
pandemic-affected citizens.
