AirAsia Malaysia, flight code AK, has launched
flights between Kuching and Langkawi and will launch three more
domestic routes in Malaysia later this month.
The Kuching - Langkawi flights took off on 5
January 2022 and will be operated every Wednesday and Sunday.
The airline will also launch weekly Johor Bahru -
Bintulu flights on 28 January 2022, as well as two flights per
week between Penang and Sibu on 27 January 2022 and a weekly
flight between Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Terengganu (pictured) on 30 January
2022.

“These new routes further
strengthen our tourism footprint in Malaysia, providing more
options for international visitors to travel between the states,”
said Riad Asmat, CEO AirAsia Malaysia. “We look forward to continuing our work to explore
even more new routes across Malaysian airports from other parts of
our ASEAN network.”
In the interest of safety and
wellbeing of passengers and employees, only fully-vaccinated
employees will operate flights and be on-duty at airport terminals
and likewise, only fully-vaccinated passengers are allowed to board
AirAsia's aircraft.
As part of its robust Covid-19 mitigation plan, AirAsia has
also made
it mandatory for passengers to check-in via the airasia Super App and
launched a facial recognition boarding system that has been
designed to make the entire journey in a digital and contactless
way.
