New CEO at Pattana Sports Resort in Thailand -
Interview with Bodintorn Juangroongruangkit
(13 June 2022, 11:12 +07)
Technology has given many people the impetus to
improve their fitness regimes and lead healthier lives.
In addition to measuring blood pressure, heart
beat, SP02 and even the quality of our sleep, smart watches and
bands are also used to measure many different sporting activities
such as cycling, running, rowing, swimming and more. They tell us
how many calories we've burned, kms walked, swam and even collate
all this data into useful graphs and charts to show us improvements being
made over time.
While this data is extremely useful, even
motivational, having a professional sports trainer analyse our
running or swimming styles, help us to improve our football or
golfing skills, and even give nutritional and sleep guidance, has
the potential to dramatically improve our lives through a tailor
made training programme that may last just a few hours, days or
even become a regular habit.
Being able to do all that in beautiful
surroundings with the best trainers and latest equipment available
is where Pattana Sports Resort comes in. The property, located in
Sriracha approximately 90 minutes from Bangkok, features a 27-hole
golf course, a 10-lane FINA-certified Olympic size 50-metre swimming pool, numerous
football and futsal pitches, a 7,000-seat football stadium, cricket pitch,
an assault course, lakes for canoes and small boats,
1km running track, 6km cycling track, a high-tech gym, 40-bay golf driving
range and will soon also have tennis and professional-standard basketball courts,
a 400-metre rubber running track with track and field-related
equipment.
The aim of Pattana Sports Resort, the
vision of the Juangroongruangkit family, is to make the property
the leading sports resort in Asia, and perhaps one day, the world.
A sports resort not only for professional and other teams, such as
school and local teams, but also those individuals who would like
to improve their own fitness regimes and lifestyles.
Khun Bodintorn 'Birdy' Juangroongruangkit recently
took over Pattana Sports Resort as CEO and a new Managing Director
- Supakit Uasamphanchai - has been appointed to lead the property.
To learn more about these changes, Steven Howard of
TravelNewsAsia.com sat down with Khun Birdy on 9 June to ask him
about his vision and plans for the future.
In this exclusive interview, only the second
in-person video interview TravelNewsAsia.com has done since
February 2020, Khun Birdy, who is also CEO of Real Asset
Development, tells us how COVID19 has impacted the
property, what plans they have to renovate existing
infrastructure, when FAME will reopen, what expansion plans they
have, which sports and markets they are going to focus their
marketing efforts on, what prompted the changes in management and
what they mean to the property, whether Pattana has any plans to
expand the brand and open more Pattana Sports Resorts, and whether
the property has a loyalty programme to try and encourage guests
to return more frequently. All that and much, much more in the
video and podcast interview below.
