Expansion @ HIA
Hamad International Airports expansion, which is
split into phase A and phase B, is set to increase the airports
capacity to 58 million passengers annually during phase A in 2022
and then to more than 60 million passengers during phase B which
will commence post the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 which kicks off
on 21 November.
Ranging from
art collections, lush greenery and a wide array of contemporary
retail and dining concepts among other leisure attractions and
facilities, HIAs expansion will completely transform the
multi-dimensional offerings of the airport, integrating
a host of facilities and offerings under one expansive
terminal.
The airports expansion plan design will also allow
passenger flow to seamlessly tie up with the existing
terminal and at the same time improve the overall passenger
experience, including minimising travel distances for connections,
providing clarity and intuitive wayfinding and an unique passenger
experience through the lush rainforest and garden.
