Shangri-La Opens First Hotel in Saudi Arabia

(24 Feb 2022)  Shangri-La has expanded its portfolio of luxury hotels with the opening of its first property in the Kingdom of Saud Arabia.

Situated on the Jeddah waterfront in the exclusive Burj Assila, a 64-storey architectural icon and Jeddah’s tallest building at 260 metres in height, the Shangri-La Jeddah offers easy access to the city’s premier shopping destinations and the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, home to the Saudi Arabia Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The hotel features 220 guest rooms and suites as well as 17 serviced apartments, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that offer sweeping views over the Red Sea and the Jeddah skyline.

Facilities at the Shangri-La Jeddah include extensive meetings and events space, a choice of F&B outlets - including the brand's popular Shang Palace restaurant, a wellness club with facilities for both men and women, including a spa, gym and a 25-metre outdoor swimming pool.

Shangri-La Jeddah forms part of the two-billion Saudi Riyal, 60,015-square-metre mixed-use development project which is also home to 116 Burj Assila Residences which are available for sale.

Shangri-La says it is fully committed to supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, and Saudis make up approximately half of the employees at the hotel.
