Bart Callens Appointed Cluster GM of Two Resorts in Southern Thailand

(04 Mar 2022, 11:48 +07)  S Hotels and Resorts, the hospitality arm of Singha Estate, recently appointed Bart Callens as Cluster General Manager of the SAii Phi Phi Island Village and SAii Laguna Phuket resorts in Thailand.

A Belgium national, Bart has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

A significant part of Bart’s professional life has been spent with InterContinental Hotels Group where he rose from the position of Restaurant Manager at InterContinental Mayfair in London to become Director of Food & Beverage at InterContinental New Orleans in the USA in 2005.

Following 2 and a half years with Langham Place Hotel Mongkok in Hong Kong and 2 years 4 months at Kerzner Group’s Mazagan Beach Resort in Morocco, Bart returned to IHG in 2011 to become Resident Manager of the Crowne Plaza West Hanoi in Vietnam.

Bart stayed in Hanoi for just over two years before moving to Thailand to work as GM of the Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit in 2014.

His first posting in Phuket came in 2016 as GM of the Holiday Inn Resort, a role IHG expanded in 2019 when the company promoted Bart to Area General Manager, overseeing five resorts under three brands – Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza – while continuing to serve as GM of the Holiday Inn Resort Phuket.
