Accor has expanded its already considerable
portfolio of hotels in Australia, with the opening of the first
Sebel-branded property on the Gold Coast.
Following an extensive transformation and rebrand
of the ocean tower of Mantra Twin Towns Coolangatta to The Sebel
Twin Towns Coolangatta, the hotel is located alongside its sister
property Mantra Twin Towns Coolangatta and features 120 guestrooms
across five floors.
“We are excited to bring The Sebel, a hotel brand
of stature and presence, to the Gold Coast,” said Accor Pacific
Chief Executive Officer, Sarah Derry. “The Sebel has an exceptional reputation for
delivering world-class accommodation and an outstanding guest
service experience. We’re seeing strong visitor numbers at our Gold
Coast properties and the Gold Coast continues to be one the most
popular destinations to visit in Australia.”

Located on the southern Gold Coast, The Sebel Twin
Towns Coolangatta is just a short stroll from the famous Greenmount
Beach and picturesque Rainbow Bay, where the Quicksilver Roxy Pro
is held annually. The resort is also ideally located for exploring
the Tweed Coast region with Kingscliff and Byron Bay within an
hour’s drive.
The resort features a range of onsite recreation
facilities, such as a heated indoor swimming pool, a resort-style
swimming pool, two outdoor spa tubs, a fitness centre and steam
room, a mini golf course and games room, and two tennis courts.
An executive lounge exclusively for The Sebel
guests is scheduled to open in the coming months.
Rob Smith, Twin Towns CEO, said, “After five years
of planning, we are thrilled to welcome The Sebel brand to Twin
Towns and look forward to the future success of this new
partnership. The $11 million transformation has elevated the hotel
rooms to a brand new level of style and sophistication. For many
Twin Towns Club members, the hotel is their home away from home.
They enjoy the opportunity to stay in-house and have live
entertainment, restaurants and bars, as well as beautiful beaches,
on the doorstep of their accommodation. We know The Sebel guests
will be impressed too when they discover they are just a few steps
away from the recreational and leisure activities available at
Twin Towns.”
The Sebel Twin Town Coolangatta joins a network of
more than 30 Sebel properties across Australia and New
Zealand.
On the Gold Coast, Accor operates 27 properties,
including international brands such as Sofitel, Peppers, Novotel,
Mantra, Mercure and BreakFree.
