Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has appointed Ann-Sofie Hörlin as Head of
Sustainability.
Ann-Sofie Hörlin
Ann-Sofie has extensive experience working on
sustainability within the aviation industry, most recently as
Head of Sustainability at Malmö Aviation and BRA.
In recent years,
Ann-Sofie has also worked as an Investment Manager at Almi Invest
and has held several board positions in growth companies.
For the past decade, SAS has been spearheading
efforts to make air travel more sustainable. SAS’ ongoing
transformation towards sustainable aviation has previously been
led by Lars Andersen Resare, who has left SAS for other
opportunities outside company.
“I am very pleased to welcome Ann-Sofie Hörlin to
SAS,” said Carina Malmgren Heander,
Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff at SAS. “Ann-Sofie
brings extensive experience from sustainability work to our
company, and she will be absolutely instrumental in driving SAS’
ambitious sustainability agenda to reduce SAS CO2 emissions with
25% by 2025.”
Positive Outlook for SAS
More than 1.4 million passengers
traveled with SAS in March, an increase of 360% compared with the same month
last year.
SAS’ capacity increased during the month by
approximately 190% when compared with March 2021.
In
comparison with February 2022, the total number of passengers
increased more than 50% and capacity jumped 30%.
The flown load factor for March 2022 was 69%, an improvement of 38
percentage points compared to March 2021.
“The passenger numbers this month are the highest
since the pandemic hit in March 2020,” said Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS.
“The ramp-up continues and we are increasing our capacity toward
the summer peak season, also on the back of improved sales trends.
We have added flights and destinations to the Mediterranean as
well as to North America, that will be operated with our new, fuel
efficient A321LR aircraft. At the same time, the need for
transformation of our company remains and we continue with the SAS
Forward plan, to secure a competitive and financially strong SAS
for the future.”
