Twenty MotoGP riders are set to ride through the
Indonesian capital before the paddock heads to Lombok for the
inaugural Grand Prix event at the Pertamina Mandalika
International Circuit: the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia.
It’s 25 years since the FIM MotoGP World
Championship raced in Indonesia, and the time has almost come for
the engines to fire up for the GP on Lombok island.
Erick Thohir, Indonesian Minister of State-Owned
Enterprises (BUMN), has confirmed that race day tickets for the
Grand Prix have already sold out, with a limited number of extras
now made available to cater to the high demand.
Twenty MotoGP riders will be joined by President Jokowi on parade through Jakarta ahead of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia on Lombok
Before the paddock heads to
Lombok, however, the
festivities will begin in the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta on Wednesday, 16 March.
Twenty riders will
take part in an unique parade, starting and ending at the Merdeka
Palace. President Joko Widodo of Indonesia, commonly known as President Jokowi, will welcome the riders at the Palace
before joining the parade and riding with
them.
The parade will feature the following champions and
Grand Prix winners:

Honda Team); Joan Mir (Team Suzuki Ecstar); Alex Rins (Team Suzuki
