IHG Signs Two Hotels in Cairo, Egypt

Dark/Light Mode (16/05/23)  IHG has strengthened its partnership with Arkan Palm for Real Estate Investment, one of the leading developers in Egypt, to build two more hotels in the capital city, Cairo.

The voco West Cairo 205 Suites is scheduled to open by June 2026, while the InterContinental West Cairo 205 is expected to welcome its first guests in January 2028.

The hotels will be part of Arkan Palm's one million sqm mixed-use development in West Cairo that will feature offices, residential units, retail outlets, business parks, hospitals and clinics, an international school, plus a Canal Walk Island comprising of residential spaces and retail stores.

The development will be approximately 45 minutes by car from the Cairo International Airport, and 30 minutes from downtown Cairo.

With 140 rooms, voco West Cairo 205 Suites will feature one dining option and a grab-and-go eatery, along with a health club.

The 250-key InterContinental West Cairo 205 will feature four dining options, 1,110 sqm of meeting and event space, a club lounge, spa, health club and a swimming pool.

Both hotels will be located close to several leisure and sightseeing destinations, including the Pyramids and the future Grand Egyptian Museum.

IHG currently has 7 hotels operating across 4 brands in Egypt, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites. The company has a pipeline of 13 hotels due to open in the next 2-5 years.
