Assa Abloy Upgrades Celtic Collection's Hotel
Room Locks and Keys
(02/08/23)
Celtic Collection, a South Wales-based operator
of unique hotels and resorts, recently partnered with Assa Abloy
to upgrade VingCard Classic locks to
include RFID security abilities at several properties, and install VingCard Signature RFID
locks for the brand’s recently constructed locations, each
enabled with Mobile Access.
Aiming to streamline and boost the effectiveness
of its security access operations, the Celtic Collection opted to
perform a full upgrade of its VingCard Classic locks to VingCard
Classic RFID at both The Celtic Manor Resort and Coldra Court
Hotel.
Designed to be scalable and future-proof, VingCard Classic
locks are able to be upgraded with RFID capabilities without
requiring an extensive and costly overhaul of existing lock
hardware.
With the presence of RFID-enabled readers, Celtic
Collection now benefits from enhanced security encryption
technology that protects against keycard cloning and unauthorized
room access.
Switching to RFID-based keycards also eliminates the
risk of guest keycards becoming demagnetized that can result in a
drop in satisfaction rates, when guests find they no longer work
properly.
The upgrades at The Celtic Manor
Resort and Coldra Court Hotel also include the installation of
satin brass and gothic lever door handles in order to combine
advanced security with an attractive exterior design.
For its recently constructed locations, including
Ty Hotel Milford Haven and Parkgate Hotel Cardiff (pictured above), Celtic
Collection’s adoption of VingCard Signature RFID provides
the same enhanced security capabilities while featuring a sleek, minimalistic design able to blend in seamlessly with any hotel
environment.
Both VingCard Classic RFID and VingCard Signature
RFID installations have further leveraged each lock solution’s
compatibility with Mobile Access in order to provide guests with a
modern and instantly convenient alternative to checking-in and
gaining guestroom access.
Able to function as a standalone
solution or be integrated with existing hotel systems and
services, Mobile Access at Celtic Collection locations is made
available to guests via the MyCheck app.
From their personal
devices, guests seeking a hassle-free arrival experience can
check-in electronically and receive a digital room key that
converts their device into a secure and effortless means of
gaining instant room access.
“The Celtic Collection prides itself on delivering
exceptional guest service and experiences, which can realistically
only be achieved by supporting operations and staff with new
advances in technology,” said Declan Bloomer, IT Service Delivery
Manager at The Celtic Collection. “Over the course of our
long-term relationship with Assa Abloy Global Solutions, the
company has always proven that it has both the advanced tools and
support necessary to live up to guest expectations for a safe and
enjoyable stay. We look forward to more of our guests experiencing
the enhanced security and convenience that RFID-based VingCard
locks and Mobile Access can provide.”
Both VingCard door locks and Mobile Access are
supported by the Visionline access management system at each of
Celtic Collection’s properties.
